Hydrangeas are native to the Southeastern U.S — a place of big, beautiful flowers that love the sun and rain. Single stems create an awesome look. Mop head hydrangeas are just like they sound — large and round with larger florets. Lace Caps have a flatter head with larger florets on the outside with bud-like centers. Mycrophylla hydrangeas have large heads with only tiny florets. Viburnum, though not truly related, is also known as a Snowball Hydrangea — green at first bloom and white as it matures.
